rush limbaugh is a fucking douchebag
as if you didn't know already....
limbaugh's latest bout with foot-in-mouth disease occurred today when he accused alex p. keaton of fakin' it. i'm sure most of you know that 80's icon michael j. fox has parkinson disease. and you probably heard he recently filmed a series of commercials supporting political candidates that back stem cell research. that is - not republicans. and nuclear surgeon rush limbaugh, in a particularly inspired bit of douchebaggery, accused fox of playing up his symptoms in the commercial. well i obviously can't vouch for fox's condition personally, but my grandma had parkinson disease, and what i saw seems - unfortunately - plausible for a more severe case. this video of muhammad ali (who is almost as cool as my grandma) is commensurate with what i have seen first-hand. and even this almost makes me cry.
it's times like this that i hope people like rush limbaugh actually believe in the conservative/christian concept of hell (though i highly doubt that's true), because i relish the thought of him burning in it.
Comments
when the revolution comes, first against my particular wall is rick santorum. then bob taft. then we'll.... improvise.
Pardon the pun...but Lynn Swann will take a dive come election day. Ed Rendell has this thing locked up. I'm more worried about Bob Casey Jr. vs. Satan, given the the Pennsylvanian:Pennsyltuckian ratio here (most live closer to Pittsburgh than Philadelphia...naturally).
Rush did not accuse Michael J. Fox of faking it. What he said was that in the commercial he could have been either acting or he was off his meds. It was a speculation that he made because of what he explained as two reasons. One, he had never seen Michael Fox that way in public before and two, Michael Fox has admitted to going off his meds when trying to make a point, as he did before the congressional hearings. Rush went on to say that he could understand why Mr. Fox would do that and had no problem with it.
Rush’s real complaint was on the ballot initiative which would make cloning legal under the Missouri constitution and therefore Michael J. Fox’s claims were misleading. I pointed that out in my post here.

Rush also said:
None of what he said was disrespectful and the bulk of his comments were directed at the content and not Mr. Fox. If you are going to enter the arena of politics you have to b ready to have your ideas challenged, if you are not then you should probably refrain from entering the debate. It is absurd to think that because of Mr. Fox’s disease that he can speak with impunity, especially if he says misleading or untrue statements.

Besides, I tried to have a conversation with here but you kept deleting my comments.
As for Esckey’s point, you are right about their being no issue with Mr. Fox acting out. Even Rush went on to say that he can understand why Mr. Fox would want to have the symptoms so pronounced to make a point. Rush even agreed with the tactic, so you and Rush agree, there is no issue with it.
Here is the problem. Mr. Fox has Parkinson’s so does that mean that he can say whatever he wants even if it is untrue and nobody can question it? He claimed that Rep Cardin supports Stem cell research which the voting record shows that he does not. He made the claim that the Republicans are against stem cell research, again untrue. He claimed that embryonic Stem Cells are the most promising, and again untrue.
So Rush spends 30 minutes talking about this commercial and you and the media spend all your time on one comment that he made. If you look at or listen to his actual comments I think you can see that he was not being disrespectful.

Mr Fox responded Thursday:
Rush made the following statement:
I am also curious why you keep insisting that your comments were deleted. If only they were.
I also especially love this description of yourself:
Are you insinuating that hotrod wants to do bodily harm to Rush and I am somehow preventing that from happening?
Why do I keep insisting that my comments were deleted? Because my comments were deleted, twice. The reason that you do not see them is because they were deleted. Funny how that works. Since they were deleted I created my own post and then added the comments that you see now and for whatever reason hotrod has decided to let them stay. Maybe he feels secure now that you have come to be his “bodyguard” as you put it.
Thanks for pointing out my typo in my profile, I corrected it. If it upsets you then I am sorry, actually I am not really sorry. Lighten up, I posted that and forgot all about it when I setup my account. Now that you brought it to my attention maybe I will update it to be more accurate but at the time I was not sure I would even use Vox so I was just putting something. But out of curiosity what does it have to do with this thread?
All I am doing is pointing out something that hotrod and I obviously have different points of view on, it is a discussion. Just as I see things my way hotrod sees them his way and by discussing the issue maybe we will both end up with a better understanding of each others point of view. In other words, hopefully hotrod will come to realize that I am right. (another joke, lighten up and do not get all bent out of shape)
