i ain't so bad

Believe it or not, I don't actually like perceiving the glass as broken and filled with poison.  And the subject matter of what I have chosen to write about has been, in general, pretty negative in tone for a while now.  Or at least, it seems that way to me.  So in the interest of tipping the scales, here's another song (or video, rather) that never fails to put a smile on my face.  We could quibble until the cows come home about why Van Halen gets such a bad rap for their post-DLR body of work when this is the sort of nonsense that Mr. LR left the band to record, but, well... hey, look!  Dave's wearing funny glasses!

No. I didn't say I was wrong, 'cuz I'm not. I just feel a little bad about picking on you about it all the time. You come around to recognize I am right eventually, just like you did with pie.

I suspect that deep down you only feel bad because you know he's kind of an influential genius and it has nothing to do with picking on me.

And I still dislike 99.9% of all pie. And while ice cream pie and brownie pie have pie in the name, they are hardly what people think of when pie comes to mind.

Also, Hey Ya by Outkast, that one never fails to make me smile.

That was kind of negative. What I meant to say is that I believe in you Hotrod and have every confidence that not only can you learn the definition of the word genius, but upon doing so you will see that Paul Westerberg is in fact one.
